MINISTRIES

Church Planting Missions

BGBC is actively involved in planting churches beyond Boracay. Through Pastor Angelo’s leadership, they have established new congregations on at least three nearby islands that previously had no local church, and they are working on reaching three more islands in the area. This project involves regular mission trips, evangelistic outreaches, and training of lay leaders in those island communities. It’s an ambitious effort to ensure even the small, isolated islands have a Bible-preaching fellowship.

Community Feeding & Relief Program

The church runs a weekly Feeding Program as a practical way to share Christ’s love. Church volunteers visit local needy neighborhoods – including the Ati tribal village on Boracay – to provide free meals, groceries like rice and fish, and basic medical care to children and families. Along with the food, they conduct a short kids’ program (singing, Bible story, and prayer) so that spiritual “food” is given as well. During times of calamity or crisis (for example, typhoons or the 2018 Boracay island closure), BGBC also organizes relief distributions. This ongoing project has blessed dozens of families and opened doors for the gospel.

Vacation Bible School (VBS)

Every summer, BGBC holds a Vacation Bible School for children on the island. This is a fun-packed week of learning about Jesus through themed lessons, crafts, songs, and games. It’s one of the church’s big annual projects and draws around 50+ kids each year. Many kids have their first encounter with the Gospel at VBS. Parents in the community appreciate this program, and some have even started attending church after seeing their children’s enthusiasm. (The church announces VBS dates – usually in April or May – and all kids ages 4–15 are welcome.)

"Saved By Grace" Radio Ministry

As mentioned earlier, Pastor Angelo hosts a radio program called Saved By Grace on 106.1 FM Radio Boracay, which airs regularly (often weekly). This radio ministry is considered a project in partnership with Boracay Malay Broadcasting. It extends the reach of BGBC’s teaching beyond the church walls. Each episode, Pastor Angelo or a guest shares a Bible lesson or an inspirational message, often addressing practical Christian living. Because Boracay is a transient place with tourists and workers from all over, the radio has been a unique way to touch people who might never enter a church. The program has been running for several years now and continues strong – truly living up to its name by sharing God’s saving grace on the airwaves.

Youth and Sports Outreach

To reach the younger generation, BGBC has initiated creative projects like sports clinics and music workshops. One notable activity is the “Bulilit Basketball” Training, a mini basketball camp for kids and pre-teens. Church volunteers coach basic basketball skills while also mentoring the kids in character and faith. This project not only provides healthy recreation but also builds trust with families. BGBC also participates in island-wide youth events (like inter-church youth fellowships and worship nights), helping organize and host when called upon. These efforts ensure that the youth of Boracay have positive, God-centered activities to join.

Music and Media Project

BGBC’s talented musicians have occasionally produced special music albums or online content. During the pandemic lockdowns, for example, the church members recorded worship songs and published them on Facebook to encourage others. The Driven By The Gospel initiative (a partner media ministry) featured some BGBC members in creating Christian content online. While not a formal “project” in the construction sense, the church’s embrace of media and the arts is an ongoing effort to glorify God creatively.

Church Building - Ministry Center Construction

A major project for BGBC was the construction of its Ministry Center (church building). In the early years, the congregation met in rented spaces, but they dreamed of a permanent home. By God’s provision, land was secured in Balabag, and a multi-story ministry center was built phase by phase. Volunteer teams (including international mission teams) came to help with construction. In one effort, a team poured the concrete for the third floor of the building, bucket by bucket, as part of an outreach project. The building now hosts the main worship hall, classrooms, and a rooftop area. Completing this facility was a huge milestone – it gave BGBC a stable base for ministry and also serves as a shelter for community events. The church dedicates this building to God’s glory and continues to maintain and improve it as needed.
